Went on the San Miguel Half Day River Rafting Tour today and had an amazing time! Zach was our guide and made sure we stayed safe and had fun. Jill was our driver and photographer and hustled the whole day, popping up at various spots along the river to capture our trip. All around this was a well organized and run tour. I wouldn't hesitate to book another trip with these guys in the future!

We did the Jeep ride through La Plata valley and it was great. So beautiful!!
Then we did the white water rafting. All the guides were great and very knowledgeable. I was scared to death but felt completely comfortable. Thank you so much!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jessica C.Upland, CA190131Jul 20, 2021
Finding an excursion that met our parties' need was unique. Traveling with 4 kids (ages 6 to 12) and five adults (including grandma aged 61) made this adventure the best of all worlds. We booked the morning adventure and directions to site, parking, and expectations were clear. Each member of our party was inviduidually fitted for a life vest, especially our littlest. The majority of the rafting trip was mellow and mostly floating, but the few white water parts were fun. This was okay with our group because of the littles with us. The highlight of our trip was the final swimming hole and opportunity to jump off a rock. The crew was so helpful in getting all the kids safely across and able to jump into the river. It really MADE the trip. Bring a hat, water shoes, board shorts, and leave a towel in the bus if you decide to take a leap. We one cell phone with our guide in his wet pack.
Our tour guide was okay, we would have enjoyed more "regional knowledge sharing" about the town/train during the floating parts to add to the trip, but it was still okay. Overall a great little company to book with. Our group enjoyed the adventure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 27, 2019
We took day adventure package through them including river rafting and Silverton-Durango scenic train. From the booking to event day experience, everything is top notch. They are super friendly. Very low priced compared to other adventure tour companies. VIP package including photography and the splash jacket + shoes was just for $39 additional.
Bruce , our rafting guide was incredible. Nice to converse with him during rafting. Patrick , our van driver and the photographer was awesome in his job too. Innocence of the store receptionist was impressive. Overall must recommended place. We saved $100 by opting them instead of other companies and trust me there is no compromise to quality or service.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

My husband, daughter and I went on the 4 hour trip with John Patrick. It was an amazing day!
Thank goodness for the rain because it made our trip quite splashy and fun. John was the perfect guide and made us feel safe and comfortable, while still having a blast.
We came down the river with another guide KJ and an Israeli family that added extra entertainment.
KJ and John have a great sense of humor as well as Michelle our bus driver. I would highly recommend this outfit! Thank you for a great time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Great rafting experience with our guide, KJ. So much fun rafting with her expertise and coaching along the way. Also brings insights about the river and its history in Durango. My son and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome!

After reading all of the 5 star reviews we were very excited to book our private jeep tour. While the tour was okay it certainly didn't live up to the hype of all the reviews. The tour was more like a ride with a two noteworthy stops: a waterfall on their private land and a vista view over looking the canyon. An added bonus was the wild flowers. I didn't count this as a major factor since they are only in bloom for a short time. The down side was how much of this ride was a trip up and down a very rugged road to see so few things. Our guide was a very nice and friendly gentleman but, only offered basic information about the area and the sites. We was very soft spoken and it was hard to hear him unless you were the passenger in the front seat. During our trip we also went on the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Ride. We chose the bus ride home and for the full hour and a half back to town our driver spoke about the history of Durango, the train, mining, ranching, the changes to the area over the years, some famous residents, animals of the region, wildflowers and so much more. Clearly so there's a lot to share about the Durango area and our guide could have shared so much more during the long trip up hill and back.
Now here's what really bothered me. Upon booking we were prompted online to tip the customary 18-22%. We passed on this option as we usually take into consideration the quality of the experience. Because of our disappointment in the basic tour (compared to other jeep tours we have taken) we did not leave a gratuity. Within minutes of our tour ending each couple received an email asking for a 5 star rating on Google as well as an email telling us we could still tip our guide with a credit card link to do so. Both of these tactics come across as unprofessional.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Kathi,
We thank you for the review, although it is uncommon for us to get a low score like this. We certainly look at all reviews and try to find the opportunity for us to improve. Ten minutes after your tour I called you and asked if there was anything wrong with the tour. Typically when a guide gets no tip on a private tour this is a signal something went wrong. You explained the situation just like you did in the review. With your feedback, we have spent more training time with our guides about the area you visited. We also have provided all guides with headsets that work in every vehicle that we own from the small 5-seaters that you were in, to the large 12-passenger rigs. We are 1000% certain you can hear the guides without any issues. We thank you for this feedback.
As for not tipping the guide because you were reminded that tipping is customary is certainly your choice. Your experienced guide came in 30 minutes early to pre-check the vehicle, go over safety procedures, ensure his GPS tracker was on, allowed restroom breaks, and offered water. He even gave you an extra 30 minutes on the trail and extended your tour to ensure you got the most out of your private tour. Most people will tip at mediocre service instead of leaving zero tips for the guide and just walking off. Clearly, there was a miscommunication issue with your tour. When I called you I even asked if there was anything we could do for you and you said, “No”.
You are making your point loud and clear that you had a 3-star experience. After looking at the reviews you left for other companies it seems that low scores are quite common with you.
We ask all guests to give us the opportunity to “make it right” if they have an issue before leaving us a review. This is not what we consider unprofessional. We tipped the guide on your behalf, providing additional training and headsets. We wish you would have been more open during the tour and let us know in real time you would like to have had more information and could not hear the guide. If you would like to further discuss this tour please feel free to reach out to David at 970-259-0289 - Mary L.Austin, TX021Jul 6, 2021
We did the 4 hour rafting trip! I was unsure about what to book before we got here. Definitely glad we did 4 hours instead of 2. Brian C. was an amazing guide!

Great time. For COVID-19, they reduced the total number of people in one raft and separated groups between left and right side of the raft.
This was the spouses first time for white water rafting and it fit the bill perfectly.
The guide was very personal and had a few stories to entertain during slow times. We were invited to swim beside the boat about half way along.
Float time was about 1.5 hours. You could help unload and load the rafts.
If you have ever white water rafted, this may not be your cup of tea as most of this was gentle and very pleasant. There was one spot right at the end that was a little more intense but not overly so.
This is a great float for beginners and youth.
Would definitely return. And would try a longer float next time with a little more action.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
